Founded in memory of Genevieve “Genny” Farnan, Next Gen 30, INC. honors Genny’s vibrant spirit and her legacy of community involvement and kindness. Genny was a beloved local figure, remembered not only for her achievements on the basketball court, where she scored over 1,000 points with the Wildwood Catholic Crusaders, but also for her genuine passion for helping others. Diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma at just 26, Genny showed unmatched courage and resilience in her three-year fight. Her family and friends now carry forward her legacy through Next Gen 30, INC., a foundation focused on giving back to Cape May County.
Next Gen 30, INC. channels its resources into various charitable initiatives that Genny would have championed herself. The foundation provides scholarships to local students, conducts community acts of kindness, and contributes to projects that uplift the Cape May County community. In the past, the foundation has helped families affected by illness, contributed to educational scholarships, and supported community needs such as revamping local basketball courts—a cause dear to Genny, a dedicated player herself. Every dollar raised stays within the community, ensuring that Next Gen 30, INC. makes a lasting impact where Genny called home.
Join us on Friday, November 15, from 6 PM to 10 PM at Carney’s Bar and Restaurant, 411 Beach Drive in Cape May, for the annual Next Gen 30 fundraiser. The evening promises an engaging mix of community fun, with live music by The Loop, food and drinks, raffles, and more. Tickets are $30, covering food, beer, and wine, with exciting opportunities for a 50-50 raffle, a silent auction, and a penny auction featuring items from beloved local businesses.
This year’s auction lineup includes gift certificates to local restaurants, a Cape May Day Spa experience, a rolling rock tricycle, and even a road bike! It's a chance not only to win fantastic prizes but also to come together with friends, family, and neighbors in celebration of Genny’s life and spirit.
If you’re unable to attend the event, Next Gen 30 offers other ways to show support. Donations can be made online through NextGen30.com, or by mailing a check to the foundation. Local businesses and individuals can also contribute by donating items for the auctions, which can be dropped off by November 13 to ensure all donors receive proper recognition.
Next Gen 30, INC. reminds us of the strength of community and the importance of giving back. Whether through a scholarship, an act of kindness, or a community project, the foundation’s work embodies Genny’s spirit. By attending the event or making a donation, you’re helping to sustain her legacy and support those in need in Cape May County.
Join us on November 15, and let’s make a difference together!
